I will be getting the information this weekend I will start to make the power point. Some problems that might occur are not being able to get my power point on my blog also I need to find enough information for the right amount of slides of the power point.

For this project I need to make sure I get everything finished in time because I don't want to have my power point not go on my blog or something like that. I think that I need to find a lot information and more than just what are on the slides of the power point so I'm not just reading off the slides. Romeo, Juliet, and Paris all died and that was all very sad. I didn't like how after Juliet saw that Romeo was dead she just decided that she was going to kill herself by stabbing herself with his sword. I get that they were both madly in love with each other but killing yourself and not even waiting until the Friar got back so she could talk it over with him. I think it would have been better if Romeo and Juliet had just told their parents that they got married and they love each other and they could all get past it and they wouldn't have died. Also, when everyone showed up to see all of them dead it made it very dramatic and sad but it didn't really need to be there.

My favorite part of the ending scene was when Capulet said to Montague that they should just make up and stop fighting because our children are because we don't like each other. And then when Montague agreed it made the ending somewhat happy. This book has influenced cultures through out time by it's tragic story. You'll hear people say that so and so are the next Romeo and Juliet or something like that. But also the love, Romeo and Juliet loved each other so much that they would die for each other and even though I think that they shouldn't have died it shows how much they care about each other. Also, it shows that they will risk going aganist their parents' beck just to be together.

Romeo and Juliet: Video post

This video relates to Romeo and Juliet in more than one way. First the pictures are all from the two movies that have been made but also the song by Taylor Swift, Love Story is also related to Romeo and Juliet. The lyrics are all about two lovers and their story is like Romeo and Juliet's except there's a happy ending. To find this video all I did was search Romeo and Juliet love videos. I also wanted the song Love Story to be in the video because I like the song and it has a lot to do with Romeo and Juliet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5nCSruwYdE

Taylor Swift - Love Story w/ Lyrics - Romeo and Juliet ( Karaoke Download Link)

Romeo and Juliet Photo Post

http://www.robertaonthearts.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/bb0197.jpeg

This photo relates to Romeo and Juliet to me because it is where they first meet at the masked ball. In the beginning Juliet told Romeo that if he really does love he will tell her but if he is just going to leave her then she does not want to be with him. She also said that she doesn't want to come off as easy to get and if she does then she will try to play hard to get. Of course Romeo said that he loved her and he would never leave her because he wants to be with her forever. Then, they decide that they should get married at once and finally Romeo leaves to go see the Friar about their marriage. I think that this will change both Romeo and Juliet's lives because if they do decide to get married that could really cause a problem in their family.

I think that they should wait for marriage and at least talk to their parents because their parents do have a right to know that their children are getting married. I think if Romeo and Juliet do get married it will either make their family see that they don't need to fight anymore or just make them fight more and it could end badly. I think that if they really and truly love each other then Romeo and Juliet should be together no matter what their parents say.

Characters in Romeo and Juliet

A character in the book Romeo and Juliet that I pick would be Romeo. Romeo is a very romatic person and a lot of the time he is love sick. He can fall in love with someone after just a few minutes of talking them, like Juliet. I think that he is the kind person who would write love poems to his girlfriend and he would be a very poetic person. I also think that he is a little dramatic because he is fourteen and he was love sick over Rosaline and he couldn't even leave his house because he was so hurt. I think that he would be more into other activities than sports and all of that stuff. I think that Romeo is the kind of person that would be fun to be around and hang out with.

Someone that I know who is like Romeo would be one of my childhood friends. He was that kind of person that was very sweet and really nice. He was a lot like Romeo in that he was sorta poetic and did like different girls after he had talked with them for about ten minutes. I think Romeo is a little different from my friend in that Romeo would get so depressed over a girl that he couldn't even go outside. Both of these boys have the same personality and probably some of the same interests. If Romeo was a real person I think that he and my childhood friend would get along very well.

Romeo and Juliet: Premonitions

In a book that I read called the Mediator by Meg Cabot, the main character, Suze could see ghosts but also once during the story she had premonition. When she first met this ghost that showed up in her bedroom she had a premonition that something very bad was going to happen to her lat sat night. A few night's later she went to her school late at night that at the time was under construction from another ghost that was messing up the whole school. So, once she went to the school she went looking for the ghost that was messing up the school. The ghost found her first and instead being polite the ghost tried to kill Suze. Eventually, she got out of the school but she was all bruised and bleeding everywhere.

Suze had a premonition that something very bad was going to happen to her and she didn't do anything about it because she didn't think it meant anything. Instead of listening to her gut, Suze went to the school to destroy the ghost who was causing all the problems and she almost got killed. Suze didn't trust her gut because she was sure that she was wrong but yet if she had trusted her gut she wouldn't have had any of that happen to her. I think if I had been in Suze's place I would have trusted my gut because first of all I would never go to a school in the middle of the night especially when a ghost is staying there at the time. I think after Suze realized that if she had trusted her gut she trusted herself more and if she were to have another premonition she would trust her gut.

Shakespearean Stories

One movie that has to do with the love triangle topic that I've seen would be Princess Bride. There is a love triangle in this movie just like William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's dream. The princess is supposed to marry some guy but yet she is in love with another guy. I think the creators of this movie involved Shakespeare into this movie by having the princess supposed to marry someone but she is in love with another guy. I A Midsummer Night's Dream Hermia is supposed to marry Demetrius but she is in love with Lysander who loves her back.

This movie also has the part about teen angst because the princess's father wants her to marry someone else that she doesn't love and she doesn't think it's fair. That also happens in A Midsummer Night's Dream because Hermia doesn't think it's fair that her father gets to decide who she marries even if she's not in love with them.

Anticipating Shakespeare

A Midsummer Night's Dream I thought was a very good movie, I liked the plot and the characters. I think it was sometimes hard to understand what they were saying because they were talking in the Shakespeare language which is quite confusing. But as the movie went on the language was easier to understand and it wasn't as confusing. I don't really know how I feel about Shakespeare and his plays. I think his writing style is weird but I think it's because it's just different than what I'm used to.

I have heard of the tale of Romeo and Juliet but I haven't seen any of the movies or read the play. I like the plot of Romeo and Juliet because it's like a tragic love story. I don't know many of the other characters in the story except for Romeo and Juliet. I think that this unit should be fun and I hope I will enjoy it because we will be spending two months on it.

Freewrite on Animal Farm

So far I have been enjoying the book Animal Farm. I like the characters and I like how there is some conflict because it would be a very boring book if there was no conflict. The part that I enjoyed most so far was the Battle of Cowshed. I think it's pretty obvious that there will be animals that are going to die and the pigs are going to keep stretching the rules and keep taking over and lying to the animals on the farm. I don't really get the whole Snowball thing because if he were still alive you would think that he would come back to the farm, it seems weird how if he is alive he doesn't come back.

I think that some of the characters should take charge more like they shouldn't let the pigs control them. I think that some of the animals are worried that they will get hurt or Napoleon will get mad if they speak out. Boxer should not have to get up an hour earlier than all the other animals just to please Napoleon. In my opinion, Napoleon is using his power in the wrong way, he shouldn't be able to break all the rules that he made up in the first place.

Over Break

The first three days that it snowed (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) my sister and I enjoyed the snow. We went downhill skiing in the Christmas tree farm the is right behind our house. We had a blast because the Christmas tree farm has enough hills to downhill ski. The next day (Saturday) my sister, my dad, and me left for California, we got up at five to try to miss the storm that was predicted that day. We left our mom home because sadly she had just had oral surgery and couldn't travel. There was little trouble when we got to Portland but nothing major but after that we had no snow problems. Our first destination was Sacramento our home town and we arrived around five thirty to greet our friends who we would be staying with. The next few days were spent shopping, bowling, reading, and watching movies. Then on Tuesday afternoon we packed up out bags and headed to Fort Bragg where my grandparents live. After a four hour drive we finally arrived and headed off to my Grandma's house where we would be staying. We enjoyed a quiet dinner and then watched TV and went to bed. The next day was Christmas but we didn't do anything except for watching my Grandma's good friend Tom open all of his presents from his parents. The next day we got up at four am because we were so anxious to get home and left Fort Bragg. We reached Olympia at around five and were so glad to be home. We missed the big snow storm but there was still so much snow when we returned. The next week of break we all hung out and cleaned stalls at our barn and other horse stuff. There is a point when you have had enough of vacation and you just want to go home.

High School Expectations

High school is a big step from middle school in so many ways. There is defiantly a lot more work and tests count for more of your grade. During my high school career I want to pass all my classes and not fail them and have to take them again. I want to get a 3.8 GPA or higher and try to get all A's for my final report card. I want to pass the WASL because it's kind of necessary even though I think that the test itself is pretty stupid. I don't want to have bad relationships with teachers and other students because then it's hard to get along especially if you are working in a group and you don't get along with the person that you are working with.

I didn't do a club this year but I would like to do a club next year and years to come. I think it's important to get involved even if you are in the video game club. You also make more friendships with people that you may not usually have classes with. Our school has so many clubs to chose from so it's not hard to get involved!

Poetry outloud- why I chose my poem

I chose my poem, Eating Together because I liked the title and the name just got my attention. Since I like cooking I really liked the poem and how the author describes what they are having for lunch and how all the good smells come together. I think the poem isn't like some of the other poems that the other students are doing because I think that this poem is also about the author's father and how he's not with him anymore. This poem to me is a serious poem so even though it's about cooking it's also about his father.
The competition to me isn't that important because even though I want to win it's not a big deal to me. I don't think that I will win and I'm not planning on it because there are other people are better at reciting poetry than I am. To memorize my poem I just had to write the poem down again and again until I got it memorized. For me the easiest way for me to memorize something is to write down and do that until I have it memorized. I'm excited to see what people are going to do for the competition.

Three Poems by Robert Frost

The poem by Robert Frost that I liked the most was "The Road not Taken". "The Road not Taken" is about Robert Frost having to choose between two roads to take. His choices are the road that more people take or the road not taken. In the first stanza he says "...two roads diverge in a yellow wood and sorry I could not travel both". I think that he is explaining that he had a choice to make and he choose the road not taken because he was brave and wanted to be different by taking the road not taken as much.

I like this poem the best out of the three that we read in class because it has a good message that applies to everyone. You get stuck in a situation where you can go one way or you can go another way. I haven't actually had to choose between two different paths like the author of but I know that there are people who have been stuck in that situation. I think that everyone has or will have to choose between two different paths that they will have to take in their life. I think that this poem has a good message and anyone can learn from what Robert Frost is saying. Just because everyone elso took one road doesn't mean you have to.

The Movie

The scene that I imagined in my head was when Miss Mayella was explaining what happened with Tom Robinson and herself at court. I imagined Mayella to have mid length hair and she would be wearing an old dress and she would look dirty. But in the movie her hair was short and she was wearing a nice dress and she didn't look dirty, she looked clean. In the movie when she spoke she sounded very unclear, like she was making the whole thing up as she was telling the story. In the book I imagined that she sounded confident, like she and her dad had practiced what she was going to say. But, I did imagine her breaking down and falling apart as she was telling her story, which happened in the movie.

I thought that the actors did a good job in this scene even though it wasn't anything I imagined it to be. I thought that the person who played Mayella was good for the part because she did a good job making a big fit about what happened. I liked how every once in a while the camera would go to Bob Ewell and you could see the expression on his face while Mayella was talking. I think the scene was good even though it wasn't like I imagined it.

Chapter 32

                                                                                        Chapter 32

I woke to the morning sun blinding my eyes through my bedroom window. I got to my feet and ran to the room next door. Atticus was in Jem's room sitting in a chair beside his bed with the book that he had read to me last night. I knew that Atticus had been in Jem's room all night awaiting for Jem to wake up. I went over to Jem's side he was still sound asleep. I knew if I tried to wake Jem Atticus would tell me not to and just let him sleep. But I wanted to tell Jem everything that happened last night with Boo Radley. I knew Jem wouldn't believe me when I told him that I had actually met Boo Radley, our mysterious neighbor who never showed his face to anyone until last night.
"Scout," Atticus spoke his voice soft and quiet.
"Scout, why don't you go into the kitchen and have some breakfast and help Calipurnia with anything she needs." He said.
"I want to wait until he wakes up, Atticus." I told him. I could tell he wasn't going to force me to leave the quiet room.
Atticus and I watched Jem while he slept, I didn't know how long he would be out.
"Atticus? How long will it be until Jem will wake up?" I asked him anxiously.
He sighed and looked over at Jem, he stared at him for a minute before he spoke.
"We will give him as long as it takes, Scout," He said not looking up at me.
I looked at Jem too, he looked so quiet, so peaceful. All of his injuries were patched up and cleaned. Atticus never took his eyes off Jem and I knew that he wouldn't be leaving the room until Jem woke up. Just then Jem's eyes started to blink open and soon he was staring at Atticus and I. I looked at Atticus and then Jem who now had his eyes fully opened and looked lost. He proped himself up and sat upright, his eyes starring off in space. Then he looked at Atticus waiting for him to speak, but before Atticus could even open his mouth I said "I have so much to tell you!"And at that very moment a smile crept onto his face.

Life Lessons

In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, Jem and Scout are growing up and as the books starts to close they are learning some life lessons from the adults around them. A life less on that Scout learns is that not everyone has the same feelings like Atticus does about blacks and racism and everyone being equal. Neither Scout or Jem liked how Mr. Ewell and Mayella didn't have to go to jail and Tom Robinson had to go even though he wasn't guilty. Also, how Mr. Ewell treats Atticus after the trial, how he spits in Atticus's face and calls him names about how he defended a black man. In the beginning of the book Scout doesn't realize that there is a different world out there and now that she's seen what other people think she's starting to realize that.
When Atticus gets home from the town he tells Jem and Scout "I destroyed his last shred of credibility at that trial, if he had any to begin with." Attcuis is saying that even though he didn't go to court he still was very angry at Atticus to make the jury think that maybe Bob Ewell should go to jail. But since Tom Robinson was a black man Bob Ewell didn't go to jail even though he should have.

Atticus as a Father

Atticus is the type of parent that is patient and calm. When Jem and Scout are talking to him he listens and gives them a chance to speak and tell him their side of their story. When Dill showed up Scout thought that Atticus would be mad and send him home right then, but instead he said he could stay the night if talked to his aunt. When Jem asked Atticus to come into Scout's bedroom to see that Dill was there he said "Just hungry, I bet". I think this makes Atticus a reasonable father, he likes to please everyone and he wants everone to be happy. Some parents would have sent Dill home if they were in Atticus's position but Atticus didn't send Dill home.

Atticus teaches Jem and Scout that the color of someones skin shouldn't matter and how they should just be themselves and except everyone. He wants his children to grow up excepting everyone and he doesn't care if they don't follow the family tradition and how Scout doesn't dress or act like a girl. Atticus is like my parents in some ways. My parents believe that everyone should be equal and my sister and I shouldn't try to change our personalities to fit into what everyone else is doing. I think my parents can be calm just like Atticus but I think that Atticus is more calm than my parents because sometimes my parents lose their temper, unlike Atticus. I think that Atticus is a good influence on his children and on other people around him and i would definitely want him as a father.

Changing Perceptions of Boo Radley

In chapters four through eight some weird thing happened that Boo Radley did. First, during the fire he put a blanket on Scout and she didn't even notice it until Atticus had pointed it out. Second, when Jem's pants ripped on the fence Boo Radley sewed them up and left them on the fence. Third, Mr. Nathan Radley closed up the tree hole before Scout and Jem could leave a note saying thank you for all the stuff that they think Boo left them in the tree. These are things that Boo Radley probably did and they are mysterious because they never actully saw him when these events happened.

Hi!

Hi Mrs. McKillip. I think it was the way his parents raised him and how they kept him away from the people in the neighbor hood. I think that some of the rumors are true about him but some of them could be a little exaggerated. Boo Radley didn't have a good father so that's what mad e Boo so grumpy and hatred. But some of the rumors seem made up because they expect that he's this certain way that they say something about Boo that might not be true even though everyone believes it. Scout and Jem believe what other people say about Boo because Atticus won't tell them anything about Boo or his family on a regular basis. Even though some of the rumors about Boo are true some of them probably aren't true.
